This art project commemorated migrants who have died trying to cross the Sonoran Desert of Arizona. HT94 was conceived by the Undocumented Migration Project and was installed at multiple venues around the USA and the world.
Drs. Jeffrey Glover and Nicola Sharratt spearheaded bringing this project to Georgia State University.
As the Atlanta host for the exhibition, Georgia State students and faculty as well as partners from Emory University and the wider Atlanta community collaborated to complete the centerpiece of the exhibition - a wall map of the desert with 3200 handwritten toe tags indicating locations where human remains were found.
The exhibition also included contributions from local organizations that support immigrants and refugees in the Atlanta area as well as space for visitors to reflect and commemorate the loss.
