Current Field Schools
Study Abroad in Lemnos, Greece
Dr. Faidra Papavasiliou developed a new research project in Lemnos, Greece, which examines emergent alternative and activist responses to the Euro crisis, and traces the intersection of heritage and sustainability in the discourse and practices of local activists.
Study Abroad in Costa Rica
In collaboration with the Interamerican Center for Global Health, Dr. Black leads a field school in in ethnographic methods in medical and linguistic anthropology with a focus on global health and indignity in Costa Rica.
Past Field Schools
Ethnographic Field School in Sustainable Food Systems, Albany GA
Launched in summer 2015, this field school was part of a 3-year, multi-disciplinary project to investigate different food hubs as they are beginning to emerge in Georgia, understand their effects on farmers, their communities, and the food system at large.
Archaeology Field School, South GA
Under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Glover, the field school provides students with a hands-on introduction to basic archaeological field techniques.
